If there is a better time to talk about light, I don't know it. These days are the longest, darkest of the year, and even small flickers show up more brilliantly now than at any other point in time. We are on the lookout for signs of Christ's coming, signs of hope, a light in this darkness.
I have shared with some, and I will share with you now, that as difficult as it is for me to drag myself out of bed into the cold, early-morning hours at our house, there is something sacred about doing so during Advent...
As we find ourselves seekers once more.
So I start the coffee and allow myself the delight of a candle to mark the sacredness of this space for pursuing and being pursued by the Light. I'm sharing similar reflections on seeking based on a a beautiful book of photography with the Catholic Beer Club today.
