It’s been busy in these parts. I’m doing something I’m not known for…planning ahead. *This is why things have gotten quiet around here. So forgive this little bit of catching up.
I’m so excited to be working on some writing with a few other ministries, as well as coming up with an idea I’m pretty excited about for this year’s #write31days project. Initially I’d all but ruled out the October writing challenge this year until I came across the idea of microblogging via Instagram. Micro feels like just the right sized challenge for this daily endeavor. I have no experience with this but it seemed like a fun, manageable way to participate without spending my evenings hunched over the keyboard.
Having spent additional time behind the wheel this fall and thinking over the idea of being intentional about living in the 'burbs, I decided to come up with 31 ways for me to stay engaged when I feel myself getting lazy about making world-changing choices one baby step at a time. Providentially, October is also Fairtrade awareness month, so it felt like the perfect way to marry two subjects I feel passionately about but haven’t spent much time writing about in this space. It is as much to inspire myself as it is to offer any kind of wisdom to anyone else. This venture may not be the straw that pushes you into the land of Instagram, but if you’re already there, check it out beginning October 1st (@unexpectedhoney). I’m calling it Green 31: A month of sustainable practices.
I’ve also officially become an Amazon Associate, which basically means if you’re ever so inclined to purchase a book I reference on my site, a portion of that sale goes to support my family. I am all for the library as a starting point, but sometimes spiritual reading is harder to come by at the public library. (No pressure, just updating).
Small updates in the midst of a very turbulent couple of weeks.
